LITTLE LEARNERS

At Agape Adventures Academy, STEM comes alive through hands-on exploration, problem-solving, and real-world application—all rooted in our outdoor, farm-based environment. Rather than learning science, technology, engineering, and math in isolation, students experience these concepts as they naturally unfold in daily life on the farm.

Our past STEM projects and activities have included engineering challenges, simple machines, building and design tasks, nature-based experiments, measurement and data collection, and observation of natural systems such as soil, water, plants, animals, and weather. Children learn by asking questions, testing ideas, making adjustments, and discovering that mistakes are an important part of the learning process.

STEM at Agape is intentionally collaborative, and age-appropriate, encouraging creativity, critical thinking, and perseverance. Whether constructing shelters, experimenting with materials, measuring garden growth, or solving real problems that arise on the farm, students develop confidence in their ability to think logically, work as a team, and apply academic concepts in meaningful ways.

Gardening at Agape Adventures Academy is a hands-on learning experience that connects children to the land, the seasons, and the source of their food. Students participate in the full growing cycle—from soil preparation and planting to watering, harvesting, and seed saving—developing both practical skills and a deeper respect for our creation.

Past gardening projects have included planting seasonal crops, tending raised beds, observing plant life cycles, composting, measuring growth, and learning how weather and soil impact plant health. Through daily interaction with the garden, children naturally explore science, math, responsibility, and patience.

Our gardening program encourages students to slow down, observe closely, and take ownership of their work. Children learn that growth takes time and care, and that small, consistent efforts lead to meaningful results. Gardening fosters independence, stewardship, and gratitude—while helping students build confidence through nurturing something living and seeing the fruit of their labor and how a little preparation goes a long way!

Animal husbandry at Agape Adventures Academy teaches children responsibility, empathy, and respect through daily, hands-on care of farm animals. Students actively participate in age-appropriate animal care routines, learning what it means to tend to living creatures with kindness, consistency, and purpose.

Past animal husbandry activities have included feeding and watering animals, cleaning enclosures, observing animal behavior, learning about animal needs, health, and habitats, and understanding the role animals play in our food system and farm ecosystem. These experiences help children develop awareness of cause and effect, routine, and accountability.

Through working with animals, students learn valuable life lessons such as patience, self-control, teamwork, and compassion. Animal husbandry at Agape goes beyond basic care—it builds confidence, character, and a sense of stewardship, encouraging children to honor the responsibility of caring for God’s creation while forming meaningful connections with the animals on the farm.
